“Advent Series”

Each year we pause whatever we are studying to take some extra time to consider the Advent of Jesus. The word advent means arrival. From the Scripture we know that there are two advents of Jesus. The First Advent is when He came “robed in flesh.” He was fully human and fully divine. The only-begotten God-Man. The Second Advent is when He comes again to set up His earthly, literal, visible Kingdom. So, are we planning to study the first one or the second one? Yes! We are planning to do a five-week survey of the Old Testament book of Isaiah. Isaiah has been referred to as the most evangelical prophet of the Old Testament because sprinkled throughout the book we’ll see glimpses of The Christ. From the context of a nation in decline, Isaiah brings hope. He proclaimed that there is life now and a better life to come. He revealed that the One who would bring the life we long for would have to suffer greatly to rescue us. There is a magnitude and depth to Isaiah that makes a survey seem a little insulting. But it is our desire to help you see the grandeur and the hope that emanates from this amazing, inspired message from our Lord.
