Next week we have our Thrive Christmas party. We will start at 6pm instead of 6:15pm so we can get as much packed into those two hours.

Students are asked to bring a wrapped $5 gift for exchange. We will be dividing Middle school/High school and guys/girls. So, take that into consideration when you plan your gift.

Also, if you are able, please bring a side dish or dessert to help us with food. We will be providing pizza as the main dish.

Canceling Thrive is never an easy decision and two in a row is even more difficult. To remind you of our policy for weather-related cancellations:

Here are some of our guiding principles:

- Our cancellations are not tied to Greenville Public Schools though we will factor their decisions into our decisions.

- For Weeknight cancellations, we will make a decision by 3 pm.

- Cancellations are not made as a whole church (i.e. 18-29 Connect may decide to meet even though Awana/GA cancels).

- Once a cancelation decision has been made, we will communicate that through message, social media and WOODTV8

Each year we connect with either a ministry partner or a missionary for the year. This year we are partnering with Alpha Family Services and Continental Baptist Mission. I challenged our teens and leaders to help reach the goal of $1,000 by Christmas break and I am pleased to announce

WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!!!!!!

With a little over $1,000 raised thus far, we are able to help fund opportunities for moms to meet their babies for the first time as well as help train young mission minded adults who will go out and help plant churches. As we continue our school year, we will continue to support these two ministries.

Night Shift is a New Years Eve Eve student activity with several other like-minded churches. We will leave Calvary on December 30 at 3pm and return around 11pm. The cost is $15 and that covers food and entrance to 3Mile Project. If a student wants to buy anything while at 3Mile, please bring extra spending money.
