We believe giving is a spiritual matter. The
Scriptures make it very clear that saints through the ages have recognized God’s
ownership of all things. Since He is the Provider and Sustainer of all things
and all we have comes from His hand, we are simply stewards or managers of His
possessions. When we give, we are not really giving anything to Him because it
is already His! We are simply acknowledging our partnership with Him through
giving. We worship through giving, we invest in eternity through giving. We
defeat materialism through giving. The tithe was the Old Testament standard, the
New Testament standard is not quite as clear but we are encouraged to give
whatever we have purposed in our hearts to give “as God has prospered.”
